How do I install an FRA water-filled flood barrier?

Water-Filled Flood Barrier Installation Instructions

        • Prepare for Installation
          • Each FRA water-filled flood barrier is equipped with two identical fittings, one near each end. Larger units may have additional fittings.
          • Remove at least two caps (one for filling and one for ventilation and monitoring).
        • Filling the Barrier
          • Attach the fill hose to the selected fill port, connect the pump, and begin filling.
          • Continuously monitor the filling process to prevent overfilling.
          • To minimize water loss, an additional plain fill spout can be attached to the monitoring port.
        • Reaching the Desired Height
          • Fill the barrier to its design height at the lowest point along its length.
          • If on level ground, stop filling when water starts to flow freely from the monitoring port.
          • On sloped or inclined land, stop filling when the designated height is reached.
        • Sealing the Barrier
          • Cap the monitoring port once the barrier is full.
          • Remove the fill hose and securely cap all ports.
        • Ongoing Monitoring
          • Once installed and filled, the FRA flood barrier should be monitored 24/7 to ensure optimal performance.
          • Water is evenly distributed between the chambers via internal baffle ports.
