Flood Protection That Doesn’t Block the View
A storefront that has been boarded up is a storefront that looks closed. For retail frontages, hotel lobbies, restaurants and building entrances, losing the glass line to flood protection carries a real commercial cost — and a security one, because nobody can see in or out.
The PC Clear Flood Panel solves that. It is the same engineered FRA panel, installed into the same anchoring track and sealed with the same gasket system, but manufactured from optical-grade polycarbonate. The opening is protected and the sightline survives.
How It Works
A permanent anchoring track is installed around the opening during the initial fit-out and stays in place discreetly year-round. When flooding is forecast, the clear panel drops into the track and locks down with tool-less Easy-Turn knobs, compressing the gasket against the substrate to form a watertight seal.
- Optical-Grade Polycarbonate
Roughly 200x the impact resistance of glass at a fraction of the weight. - Shared Anchoring System
Uses the same track and gaskets as the standard FRA Flood Panel. - Tool-Less Deployment
Easy-Turn knobs let one person install a panel without hardware. - Stores Flat
Panels stack compactly back-of-house between flood events.
Engineered for Commercial Frontages
Each panel is cut to the exact opening it protects and engineered for the span and head of water that opening will see. The UV-stabilised, abrasion-resistant coating on both faces keeps the panel clear across its service life, and because panels are stored rather than left standing, exposure stays low.
Clear panels can be specified for selected openings within an otherwise standard installation — glazed frontage in clear, back-of-house and service doors in aluminium — so you are paying for transparency only where it earns its place.

PC Clear Flood Panel Features & Benefits
Specified for retail storefronts, hotel and office lobbies, restaurants, showrooms and any entrance where being visibly open is part of the business.
The PC Clear Flood Panel is part of the FRA flood barrier range, which spans deployable barriers, passive hinged systems and long perimeter runs. We specify across the range so each opening gets the right product rather than the only product.
Keeps Frontage Visible
The space still reads as open and lit while the opening is protected.
Security Sightlines
Staff and security can see the street; the street can see in.
Lightweight Handling
Lighter than an equivalent aluminium panel, so deployment is faster and safer.
Retrofits to Existing Tracks
Usually installs into anchoring already fitted for standard FRA panels.

What is the PC Clear Flood Panel?
It is an FRA flood panel manufactured from optical-grade polycarbonate instead of aluminium. It installs into the same anchoring track and seals the same way, but it is transparent — so the opening stays visible when the panel is deployed.
Why choose a clear panel over an aluminium one?
Sightlines. Retail storefronts, hotel lobbies, restaurants and building entrances lose their frontage the moment they are boarded up. A clear panel protects the opening while the space still reads as open, lit and occupied — which matters commercially and for security.
Is polycarbonate strong enough for flood protection?
Yes. Polycarbonate has roughly 200 times the impact resistance of glass at a fraction of the weight, which is why it is used for security glazing and machine guarding. Each panel is engineered to the span and water height of the opening it protects.
Does it scratch or yellow over time?
The panels are supplied with a UV-stabilised, abrasion-resistant coating on both faces. They are stored between deployments rather than left in place year-round, so exposure is limited and clarity is retained across the product's service life.
Can PC Clear Panels be used with my existing FRA installation?
In most cases, yes. They use the same anchoring track and gasket system as the standard FRA Flood Panel, so a property already fitted for flood panels can usually add or substitute clear panels at selected openings.
How are the panels stored and deployed?
They are lighter than an equivalent aluminium panel and deploy tool-lessly with our Easy-Turn knobs, so one person can install them. They stack flat for storage in a back-of-house space.
